Footwear Developer II-Running - ,

Mind readers wanted.

Consumers today are more sophisticated and better educated than in any previous generation. They decide what they want and when they want it. At Nike, our challenge is to anticipate what they'll want and be ready with a solution. When we're really good, it's something -- a product, a service, a whatever -- that's so intuitively perfect the consumer hasn't even imagined it could exist. Your job? To make sure we know our consumers better than we know ourselves.

But you knew that already, didn't you?

As our Footwear Developer II - Running, you'll provide project and process management within Footwear Product Development at a senior level. You'll be responsible for converting a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the team and the consumer, and that can be successfully and profitably commercialized and produced. You'll work at a fundamental level by informally contributing to the professional growth and effectiveness of less-tenured Developers, including helping them to understand the Nike Product process and the key role of Development in the Product process. You'll manage project information and ensure its accuracy, and initiate/lead meetings with Product Creation. You'll also facilitate the decision-making process that leads to on-time product confirmation and sample delivery, by consistently reviewing and evaluating project status with the Product Creation team. You'll utilize your footwear knowledge and tools to achieve project objectives at an advanced level of efficiency, and communicate project status and reports to category leadership. You'll manage sampling and prototyping across geographies and apply an enhanced understanding of advanced R&D concepts to the In-Line Product process and offering. You'll apply an advanced understanding of product and category objectives, quality goals and athlete/consumer requirements. You'll also apply an advanced understanding of category best practices to identify product and testing requirements. You'll assure product performance by applying product integrity through physical and field-testing (fit) and recommend and specify to the Product Creation team the material, component and construction options needed to meet key features and product performance goals. In addition, you'll demonstrate an advanced awareness of and engage in all phases of the Nike Product process to ensure that projects are proven and tested, completed on time and manufacturable, as well as meet design intent and performance, costing and sustainability goals.
